Note taking, organizing, snippets? 3 Apps to handle it
I’ve been trying to decide between using ShoveBox and Evernote. I pointed out they each have strengths and a friend pointed me to a blog that said why not use them both... and a third app as well to round out the usefulness.
Barry Wiseman wrote a great blog post on why using all three makes sense. He solved my dilemma of trying to choose between them when I really do like aspects of each that the other doesn’t have. So rather than try to do justice to what has already been covered I’ll just post the usual links here with the devs descriptions so you can check them out for yourself. 
Evernote and ShoveBox each have an iPhone app as well as the desktop app.
Evernote - “Evernote allows you to easily capture information in any environment using whatever device or platform you find most convenient, and makes this information accessible and searchable at any time, from anywhere. Did we mention that it's free?”
ShoveBox - “ShoveBox catches all those little scraps of information that you can't act on now but would rather not forget. It sits up in your menubar, waiting for you to drag in text, images, URLs, and more.”
SideNote - “Sidenote tries to catch the “Stickies” spirit but in the form of a multi-document drawer that will hide in the corner of your screen (left or right). You can use it to take all your daily notes, include images and easily modify text color and font...”
